Sumitomo Rubber’s vibration control dampers for buildings have been implemented in the structural analysis software ETABS and SAP2000.

The design model of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd.’s building vibration control dampers (compound: GR4) has been implemented in ETABS and SAP2000, structural analysis software widely used around the world, developed by Computers and Structures, Inc. *

This enables the nonlinear behavior of dampers—previously requiring individual modeling and calibration—to be easily reproduced as a standard feature, thereby contributing to greater efficiency in structural analysis and improved design accuracy.

Going forward, we will continue to promote broader adoption of our dampers in a greater number of buildings not only in Japan but also in the global market.
